Ellen Mullen is the founder of GoodFit.
For the past 16 years, Ellen has helped individuals and groups to make fitness an important part of their lives. Her experience began as a fitness coordinator for Greenwich Family YMCA where she coordinated all adult and senior programs, implemented new classes, and supervised all instructors. After two years in that position, she was promoted to Director of Health and Fitness, a position she held until from 2000-2003. In that role she implemented numerous new fitness programs for adults and seniors that resulted in a 50% increase in class participation and supervised a staff of 25, and was responsible for all budgets, equipment, payroll and training.
In 2003, Ellen branched out on her own and started offering in-home personal training services and in the process built a strong and loyal following in the Darien-New Canaan-Greenwich area. Ellen opened a fitness studio in 2006 in the offices of Dr. Birsky’s Integrated Therapies, where she offered personal fitness training to a high caliber client base in Darien.
GoodFit (Darien) was founded in 2013, when Ellen moved to a new and independent location offering a private, beautiful work out environment to her clients, at 528 Post Road in Darien, CT.
Ellen is a graduate of Central Connecticut State University where she received at B.A. in Business Administration and has been professionally certified by the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) for personal training, yoga, Pilates and prenatal fitness and is current on her CPR certification. She is 54 years old.
Robert Cioppa started his fitness career in 1983 training his fellow football players at St. Joseph’s High School in Trumbull, CT.
His love for fitness led him to receive certifications in Personal Training, Reebok Power Walk Instruction, Strength Training (AAFA), and “Street” Rollerblade Instruction (levels 1, 2, & 3). In 1999, he displayed his own level of fitness finishing in the top 3 for Vert Ramp in the first Extreme Games qualifier in Boston.
With the birth of his daughter, Robert began focusing on the safer side of fitness teaching Martial Arts, Oigong, and T’ai Chi. Still hungry for more training, Robert attained RTS strength training, ISCP Kickboxing, and Power-house Pilates certifications.
While living on St. John’s in the Caribbean, Robert has taught over 1,000 Yoga-lattes classes at resorts and on the beach. In 2009 he returned home to CT and received his 200-hour Yoga certification at Kripalu.
After 20 years of experience, Robert has created a unique exercise methodology that combines the principles of Quigong, Pilates and Yoga (YOGA-LATTES) to train the mind, body and spirit in order to promote long term health and well being.
